Plein Air

We spent a morning out focusing on art. My kids don't naturally gravitate towards art so I try to expose them to it as often as I can. Plein Air is supposed to be painting outside, but with three kids I didn't want to take on that challenge. We brought their art journals, pastels, and color pencils.
These are pencil rolls I made for them awhile ago. I made Malachi's out of a rocket material--what else. I love the material for Amelia's. It has the old-school bikes on it. The name is "Lightening Bugs and Other Mysteries". I probably would have bought it just because of the name.
After the art they quickly moved on to more "fun" activities. They began with hide-and-go-seek. I love how the leaves touch the water.
Then it moved to "fishing" and poking the turtles with sticks.

What a beautiful setting! I love the pencil rolls you made. Did you have a pattern or did you just make them up?

I pretty much just made them up.
