The Big Hole
It was Malachi's idea to go see the Grand Canyon. He had big plans of hiking down to the bottom and seeing the river or the village down there. I told him he wasn't quite ready for such an adventure. So he had to stick with just looking at it. Yep, it's as dad said, "just a big hole in the ground."
We did come across this . . . reindeer? Not sure. But, it was impressive.

that creature is an elk--they freely roamed the open field behind our flag apartment. they used to freak me out at night with their girlish screeches. . .will had to come investigate with me one night to calm my fears that some poor woman was being assaulted in the field. the flashlight revealed a herd of them grazing the field. lol!
